HIV/AIDS SPEAKERS PROGRAM
Our speakers are very effective at putting a human face on this epidemic while dispelling stereotypes, myths, and basic misunderstandings.

Schools:
Our speakers have addressed hundreds of classes, ranging from 7th graders to graduate students! Research has shown that the utilization of HIV/AIDS-infected individuals contributes a great deal to the effectiveness of preventive educational efforts. We are helping to save lives.
Social Organizations:
Our speakers have addressed groups of mental health professionals, persons incarcerated in Thurston County jails, adult education programs, drug and alcohol programs, Head Start teachers and staff, medical staff and political groups.

Our Speakers' Bureau consists of men and women from our own community who are living with HIV/AIDS, and their family members who are affected by HIV/AIDS.
Our speakers give presentations that usually last one hour (the average length of a class period). They consist of a brief personal history, followed by a time for questions and answers.
